"Brütal Legend" traz 108 canções de pura pauleira

A Double Fine Production confirmou a trilha sonora do game "Brütal Legend", título de ação com temática de heavy metal que está previsto para sair em 13 de outubro (já apelidado de "rocktubro"), nos consoles Xbox 360 e PlayStation 3.

A lista traz nomes como o seminal Black Sabbath, a podridão de Carcass, a supervelocidade de Dragon Force (sim, o pesadelo de "Through the Fire and Flames", de "Guitar Hero III", está de volta), o metal tradicional de Saxon e Judas Priest (com o clássico "Painkiller"), e o thrash metal do Anthrax, Testament e Megadeth. Não faltou a banda de Jack Black (inspirador do protagonista do game), a Tenacious D, ou a fictícia Dethklok, do desenho "Metalocalypse".

"Essa trilha sonora levou anos para ser costurada como queríamos para representar todos os gêneros de metal, e também temos a músicas perfeita para todos os momentos épicos no jogo", comenta o criador Tim Schafer, presidente da Double Fine. "[A trilha] foi projetada para ser amada pelos fãs de metal, e para aqueles que não são, ou converterá essas pessoas ou fará explodir duas cabeças... senão ambos".

De volta ao metal

"Brütal Legend" coloca o jogador na pele de um roadie, o assistente de palco de uma banda. O criador Tim Schafer afirmou ter sido fã de heavy metal na juventude e outro game seu, o adventure "Full Throttle", se inspira nesse mundo.

Na verdade, Eddie Riggs, interpretado por Jack Black (de "Escola de Rock"), é mais do que isso. Trata-se de um roadie perfeito, que tem na memória as capas de todos os discos de heavy metal e suas letras. Numa noite, um acidente no palco deixa Riggs inconsciente, e quando acorda, está num mundo diferente mas estranhamente familiar, em que as capas e letras dos discos que conhece ganham vida.

No entanto, esse mundo é dominado pelo tirano Lord Doviculus, que está escravizando o que restou da raça humana. Assim, a bordo de possantes motos e armas como guitarras-machado, Eddie enfrenta um exército de demônios. O game traz muitas referências ao mundo do heavy metal - o nome do protagonista vem da mascote do Iron Maiden, Eddie the Head, e seu criador, o ilustrador Derek Riggs - e também vozes de ícones do gênero, como Lemmy Kilmister, do Motörhead, e Rob Halford, do Judas Priest.
