Microsoft recently postponed Halo Infinite to 2021. It was a big change on their part, not only because this is the next big game in the Halo series, but also because it should be the launch title for the Xbox Series X. Shortly after the announcement was done, a report was published by Brad Sams of Thurott , claiming that the development of Halo Infinite had been in crisis for a while, mentioning things like extensive outsourcing, a disconnect between developers and marketing, a mistaken focus on the next Halo Showtime TV show, and more as some of the many reasons that ended up becoming obstacles in the development of the shooter.
343 Industries has now responded to several statements made in the report and refuted some of them. To begin with, interestingly, 343 Industries' community manager, Brian Jarrard, posted on Twitter not long after the publication of the aforementioned report, implying that the statements in the report were inaccurate.

At the same time, Jarrard also wrote a reply on the Reddit about the report, specifically speaking of allegations that Microsoft considered launching the Halo Infinite campaign and multiplayer separately (something Jarrard himself had previously denied). According to Jarrard, Phil Spencer's recent comments that has already been considered to launch Halo Infinite with modes separate is not consistent with what was described in Sams' report.
343 Industries also refuted claims that the studio's leadership was too focused on the TV Halo program for Showtime, which negatively impacted the development of Halo Infinite. In a statement to IGN , a 343 Industries' voice said the studio has a separate and dedicated team working on the TV series under its own leadership, and that it is completely separate from the Halo Infinite development team.
At this time, 343 Industries has not responded to claims that the extensive outsourcing of Halo Infinite has led to development problems in the game - including its visual downgrades - but given the contention surrounding other claims made in the report, it is best to proceed with caution with other content contained in it as well. We will keep you informed as this story unfolds, stay tuned.
Halo Infinite will be released in 2021 for Xbox Series X, Xbox One and PC. John Junyszek of 343 Industries recently asked fans to "wait" for more information about the game in the coming months.
