With the first episode being released on April 26, 1989 and featuring 291 episodes, Dragon Ball Z marked the childhood, adolescence and even adulthood of many. How many didn't spend the afternoons watching this anime? The Goku saga came out of a more childish stage in Dragon Ball to have a more adult and violent look in the Z saga. GOKU VERSUS VEGETA
Coming after the Dragon Balls and the son of "Kakaroto", the Saiyans Vegeta Nappa and Raditz landed on Earth to fight a great fight against Warriors Z. Goku and Vegeta, in particular, starred, perhaps, the best fight of the beginning of anime. The fight came to be worth more than the Dragon Balls, as well as the Earth and the loved ones of our earthlings with the right to an unusual ending.
THE LAST TRANSFORMATION OF FREEZA
We were shocked to learn that Freeza could transform and become even stronger than she already was. Today Dragon Ball fans face the transformations naturally, since practically all villains manage to "evolve", but for the time it was absurd. Perhaps Freeza was the most terrible enemy of Saga Z and seeing him grow stronger and more bizarre with each transformation made viewers uneasy. I remember I didn't blink until I could see Freeza's final shape. A strange but imposing appearance.
VEGETA SACRIFIES TO TRY TO KILL MAJIN BOO
After an intense fight against Goku in his eagerness to try to overcome him at all costs, Vegeta defeats him and sets out to end the new threat Majin Boo. Trunks' father sees that Boo is practically invincible and sets out on a desperate move that is to try to blow himself and the pink villain. He regrets that Goku has sacrificed himself so many times to save the others while he was unable to do anything, so he says goodbye to his son and blows up the surrounding area using all his power. Too bad his sacrifice was in vain ...
GOKU BECOMES SUPER SAIYAJIN 3
Goku returns from the underworld to participate in a martial arts tournament on Earth. A new threat appears: Majin Boo. He trained hard while he was in the afterlife, managing to become much stronger than he already was, surprising us by showing that he could go beyond the powers of Super Saiyan 2. He demonstrates to Majin Boo and Babidi the different levels of power of the Super Saiyan and impresses us by showing the powers and stylish look of the level 3 Saiyan.
GOHAN TRANSFORMS TO SUPER SAIYAJIN 2
Gohan fights fiercely against Cell in the tournament that will decide the fate of Earth. Even though he is very strong, Gohan is too kind and is unable to release all his power. Android 16, fearing the outcome of this battle, grabs Cell and tries to explode with him using a bomb that exists in his body. However, he discovers that the bomb has been removed, Cell breaks away from the Android and destroys it to bits. The head of 16 was still intact and able to speak, so he tries to motivate Gohan not to be afraid and to use all his power. Cell gets angry and steps on his head destroying him completely. Gohan has a moment of commotion and fury, managing to unintentionally unleash all his power by showing us something that went beyond the strength of a normal super Saiyan.
APPEARANCE OF TRUNKS AND DEATH OF FREEZA
Freeza and his father arrive on planet Earth. Yeah ... the fearsome enemy was back and now in company. We didn't know if Goku was alive and we were sure that the Z Warriors would be no match for him, out of nowhere comes a mysterious boy named Trunks. No one knew where he came from and what his abilities were, but he quickly impressed everyone by showing that he could transform into a Super Saiyan and that he was far more powerful than Freeza. What do you mean, someone who was able to calmly fight Freeza ?! Goku suffered so much to defeat him! The outcome of this clash is simply epic.
KAMEHAMEHA FATHER AND SON
Cell seeing that he could not beat Gohan tries to explode, which would cause the death of everyone and even the destruction of the planet. Goku anticipates and takes the villain to Lord Kaioh's planetNorth. Goku, Lord Kaioh and his disciples die, but Cell manages to survive and returns to Earth even stronger. Cell fires a powerful blow at Vegeta and to try to save him, Gohan throws himself in the front and ends up seriously injuring his arm. Cell, who was stronger due to the Saiyan cells he possessed, goes for all or nothing with Gohan who is already very tired and with an injured arm. The two engage in a powerful Kamehamehas dispute that would put that battle in check. Gohan thinks he won't make it, but Goku "appears" from beyond to give him strength. Together (and with a little help from Vegeta) they manage to strike back at Cell's Kamehameha and put an end to the villain.
GOKU BECOMES SUPER SAIYAJIN FOR THE FIRST TIME
Goku had tried everything to defeat Freeza, from the Kaioken increased 20 times to Genki Dama. Nothing worked, Freeza was very powerful. In a moment of cruelty, Freeza did something that perhaps he still regrets today, which is to have killed Krillin. One of the few times Goku was furious in the entire Dragon Ball story was when his best friend was murdered. Seeing him die again makes him so possessed that he takes the form that his race believed was only possible to be reached by a legendary warrior: the Super Saiyan. Goku happens to have blond hair, blue eyes and unimaginable powers, thus waging one of the most intense (and lengthy) fights in the entire anime.
Dragon Ball Z has even more epic moments, but I just wanted to bring out the most striking ones.
