Recently, Sony and Square Enix officially revealed that Spider-Man will only be available on the PS4 edition of Marvel's Avengers as a new playable character. While it may sound great to PS4 owners, the news caused a huge backlash against Crystal Dynamics and Square Enix for offering less content on Xbox One and PC for the same price as the PS4 version of the game.
According to a recent post on Reddit, which has already been voted on by over 14,000 users, the Xbox community believes that the PS4 exclusivity of Spider-Man content in Marvel's Avengers is an unforgivable disrespect, as they pay the same price, but receive less content. To demonstrate their anger at Square Enix's exclusive agreement with PlayStation, Xbox gamers consider boycotting the game, which simply means they won't buy it until the publisher offers the same content at the same price on PC and Xbox, the same to PS4.
