Solidaires Informatique, a French union, has filed a collective lawsuit against Ubisoft, due to several allegations of sexual harassment and abuse committed by several important company names within their work environment.

The union invites Ubisoft's victims of harassment, as well as any other company interested in participating, to contact the entity to set up the case to be sent to court, promising total confidentiality to all involved.

And until then, the union demands that Ubisoft answer the charges before it is brought to court.

This process comes after several and several accusations made against several people in the company, such as the director of Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla, Ashraf Ismail.

Executives Serge Hascoet, Yannis Mallat, Cecile Cornet (among others. And Maxime Beland, director who was the creator of Splinter Cell and Rainbow Six, who left the company in 2019 but returned in early 2020. All of those mentioned left Ubisoft after complaints and harassment.

Among the various accusations are cases where, during a game presentation, which was being made by a woman, an executive played an obscene song about sexual acts with a woman of the same name as the one making the presentation, at a time when she was absent, pausing the song when she returned.

Other cases include racism, in which executives referred to actor John Boyega, the Star Wars Finn, by pejorative names. In addition to cases within the Assassin’s Creed franchise.

In Syndicate, the characters Jacob and Evie shared the role equally, but this was changed, giving more emphasis to the male character.

In Origins, the original idea was to kill or injure the character Bayek at the beginning of the game, which would be continued with the player controlling his wife, Aya.

And the best known case is in Odyssey, which was created with the Kassandra character in mind, but board members did not accept the idea because “a female protagonist would not sell” and demanded the addition of Alexios as one of the protagonist's choices.

Yves Guillemot, CEO of Ubisoft, commented briefly on the subject, without addressing it more openly, saying:

"Whenever we are informed about misconduct, we make really difficult decisions and make sure those decisions have a positive and clear impact, so this is very important."

"And it has now become clear that certain individuals have betrayed my trust in them and have not acted on Ubisoft's shared values."

"So I never compromised my values and ethics, and I never will. I will continue to guide and transform Ubisoft to face the challenges of today and tomorrow.”

It remains now to follow the case to see how it will end. And what will happen to your accused and your victims.
