Last week, the platform changed many of its social media profile photos to Game Pass, replacing them with a new logo with the Xbox icon and 'Game Pass', with the word 'Xbox' removed. Microsoft has also removed the word 'Xbox' from its Game Pass community updates.
The move has led to speculation and others that Microsoft could be moving to more clearly separate the subscription service from the console hardware (the Game Pass is also available on the PC). However, a Microsoft spokesman said on Tuesday that despite the logo change, the service would continue to be called an 'Xbox Game Pass'.
“Xbox recently revealed a redesigned logo for the Xbox Game Pass. Although the logo is new, there were no changes to the name of the service, it remains the Xbox Game Pass, ”said the spokesman.
