Microsoft unveiled the New Xbox Experience, a complete redesign of the dashboard that will launch with the Xbox Series X in November. It will also be available for Xbox One and Game Pass on PC, along with Xbox mobile apps. The trailer below shows members of the development team, including Xbox research and design chief Chris Novak, talking about the update, so take a look.
The New Xbox Experience will take advantage of the Xbox Velocity Architecture and Quick Resume that come with the Xbox Series X. This means a home screen that loads 50% faster. Even returning to the screen after a game is 30% faster and the improvements use 40% less memory than before.
Visual improvements include more readable text and elements on the screen, such as polygonal formats, fonts and so on, making them easier to understand. Although the console's user interface layout is familiar, Microsoft describes them as "faster and more focused". Some other features include updates and game clips that can be shared online from the console to the Xbox app on your phone. Notifications on PC, cell phones and console are also being consolidated.
Stay tuned for more details on the New Xbox Experience in the coming months. The Xbox Series X will be released in November this year.
