The releases of developer 4A Games, responsible for the Metro series, are always technically impressive for their time and, in recent years, they really started to bet everything on Ray-Tracing, with Metro Exodus in particular taking advantage the technology on the PC in a very impressive way. With the PS5 and Xbox Series X supporting hardware-accelerated ray-tracing, the expectation is that it will become much more common in games, and 4A Games is very excited about this prospect.
Previously, the Polish studio expressed its excitement about ray-tracing support on upcoming consoles, and recently speaking in an interview with VGC , they reaffirmed this excitement. Executive producer Jon Bloch said that of all the features of the next generation, 4A Games’s most exciting is Ray-Tracing, mentioning that the studio is totally rebuilding its proprietary engine to be able to take advantage of Ray-Tracing technology correctly for the next generation.
In the same interview, Block also spoke about the work of 4A Games and the aspirations for a multiplayer experience within the Metro series. Read more about it here .
