Gamescom 2020 | Check out some of the winners of the event prizes

The first winners of the gamescom 2020 awards have been announced.

Gamescom awards were presented in a total of four genres and three platform categories as part of Gamescom: Opening Night Live, presented by Geoff Keighley.

Ubisoft's title “Watch Dogs Legion” won in the category of Best Action and Adventure Game, Electronic Arts is pleased to be awarded Best Action Game for its title “Star Wars: Squadrons” and “Curious Expedition 2” for Maschinen-Mensch received the award for Best Indie Game.

In the platform category, Microsoft's Best Xbox Game went to “Tell Me Why”, “Little Nightmares 2” was the choice for Best Nintendo Switch Game and “Cyberpunk 2077” took home Sony's Best PlayStation Game.

All winning titles in the genre and platform category groups are eligible for the main award, Best of gamescom, presented by the gamescom awards jury.

During Gamescom, the international jury also selects a winner in the categories Best Ad, Best Lineup, Best Presentation / Trailer and presents the special Heart of Gaming Award.

All other genre and platform categories, as well as gamescom global awards and consumer awards, will be announced on Sunday, August 30, 2020, starting at 3 pm (in Brazil) during Gamescom: Best Of Show.
