Announced during the Xbox Games Showcase, Forza Motorsport is the newest chapter in the popular Racing Simulator franchise in production by Turn 10 Studios.

Something that the studio preaches and talks a lot about the construction of this new chapter of the franchise, is that everything will have a great evolution, thanks to its new graphics engine, FTech Engine X.

FTech Engine is a graphics engine created by the company in 2004, and operates in all titles of the Forza franchise, from Motorsport 1 to 7, as well as Horizon 1 to 4, and also, in August, it will show its veracity in Microsoft Flight Simulator , because it is the engine that moves such a game with that beauty.

The most innovative interaction of the Graphic Engine was built from 2017 to 2020, designed specifically for the new Forza Motorsport, which ended up being the reason the game was not released this year (and maybe not even in 2021). And now, the company talks more about this new feat.

In a theoretical video talking about the Engine and all the proportions it can take, Turn 10 technical and engineering director Diego Garzon explains how they created the entire globe of Ray-Tracing, 3D Lighting, Light Probe and 4K Textures , so that it does not weigh in the game.

Basically, everything was built from 0, and represents a vehicular implementation of lighting designed only for the New Generation of Consoles, where it will be able to better capture all the color scanning, and will be able to mirror around the environment around the game, creating a Ray- Dynamic Tracing in a more practical and smooth way, giving the team the opportunity to make the game more optimized.

The Director explains that all this would only be possible with powerful Hardware such as the Xbox Series X and High-end PCs, where with their unique and more advanced Processing, CPU, GPU and SSD characteristics, they are able to support and extract the maximum of new FTech Engine X.

This lecture was originally designed to be demonstrated at GDC 2020 in March this year, however, it was canceled due to the beginning of the Global Quarantine due to Covid-19.

It is very interesting to see how Turn 10 sees this journey with the new Forza, and somewhat friendly that they are sharing all the details of their engineering and ways of developing their games.

Forza Motorsport is in exclusive development for the Xbox Series X and Windows 10. It has no release date yet.
